The Daylight Thing

Is it just me or does turning the clocks back this year not seem as big of a deal?
I was anticipating my extra hour of sleep and was well prepared.
I went to bed at my pre-clocks turned back time, snuggled in, content with knowing my phone - which also serves as my alarm - would reset itself at the appointed hour and I could snooze with abandon.
And it all went according to plan.
Only it didn't seem so monumental on Sunday morning. I suppose some of that could still be the novelty of not having to go to the early morning meetings at church for the first time in almost 10 years, but still.
I got nothing.
And I feel a little robbed. This is one of the best parts of the light fading in fall and the chilly temperatures; that one morning and the week that follows where, for a brief moment in time, it's like I'm catching up, just a leetle bit.
It better not matter in the spring either when that blessed hour is snatched away from me.

This is me and am I over it or was this year an anomaly?

First time I did DST was on my mission. The extra hour was amazing, but then in the spring I was like, "it's just a loan that you end up paying back with interest!" Good ol Arizona, doing it right.

I just don't get it. I don't understand why we have to and why it's a pain, but it is all those things.
