There is an ancient (accepted & oft practiced in the Far East)tradition of drowning cats. Why do you suppose such a thing has managed to pass the test of time? Actually, (now that I think of it) that old tradition may become passe as more culinary interest in cats progress. My own charity toward the feline persuasion has been stretched to the limit. I tip my hat to your forbearance toward gravity-defying, deadly-curious, destructive fur balls.
Poop is kind of awesome. I can't do much as a parent, but clean up poop?? I gots that DOWN! So maybe I get a little giddy when i see poo. It makes me feel like there's finally something I can do right around here :)
