I Thought Green Meant Go

What is with pedestrians and not walking when the light is green - or showing the little dude walking - and then going when the light is red - or showing the red hand - or sauntering across in the middle of the street, or starting to walk when there are only 03 seconds flashing on the signal and not even making an effort to go faster when there are cars in two directions honking and clogging up the intersection and yet when the light is green, welcoming them to proceed, they hang out on the corner, so I don't know if I can turn right or if they're just taunting me?

This is me and what is with people?!

Well Hello There

Ah, people.
People and their cars.
People and their cars and the belief that when in their cars nothing can touch them:

Because it makes perfect sense to try and perpendicularly cross four lanes of traffic during commuting hours AND a green light when all the traffic going the correct way is trying to follow directions.

This is me and it's the holiday spirit all over.

Long Day

If I may say, after a 14-hour day of driving across the largest geographical city in the country - if not the planet - twice; all for the good of an event wherein I am not related to anyone involved, spending large amounts of money that isn't mine, and doing a lot of talking on the phone while in said traffic...
After all of that, may I say that missionaries, especially, ESPECIALLY the elders, should not be allowed to plan/manage/heck, even comment on a wedding.
Not even their own.

This is me and it had better go well tomorrow.

I Don't Understand

Explain this one to me, smart Internet friends.
I get road rage. I do. I know how it is to sit behind a moron who won't move, even though the light has been green for a minute and a half already, or behind someone trying to turn left, even when the sign says "No Left Turn." So I understand how tempers flare and red lights are run and swerves get more sudden and dangerous.
And the longer the commute, the worse it can be.
So tonight. I'm driving home from work. Just as disgruntled as the next car. I have learned that - contrary to common sense - it is actually faster to go through the residential neighborhoods than to take the freeway, so I'm in a long line of cars waiting for the blessed green left turn signal to come on and a guy from the opposite direction stops in the middle of the block to turn left, across traffic and into his parking garage. He presses the button and, sure enough, a gate in the apartment building five cars up from me opens. But the light turns and no one leaves even a smidgen of space between them and the car in front.
Having driven this route every day for a year plus I know how long the green arrow will last so I don't sweat it. I'm not making this light, so I pause to let the guy go across my lane and into his apartment. He doesn't look like he believes the opportunity, and I can't blame him, so I gesture across my windshield that he can go.
He sticks his hand out his window, flips me the middle finger and doesn't go. I am not sure what that's all about, so I wait and gesture again; he can go.
He gives me the dirtiest look and then revs the motor and screeches left and into the garage.
What was that all about? Was I inadvertently being rude?

This is me and that was weird.

Road Rage

I was motoring along, just as I do every Thursday, on my way to the Home Storage Center and I stopped behind a car making a left hand turn. It was a crowded intersection with large trucks maneuvering and sometimes blocking the street. When the light turned yellow there was a truck in the way of the car in front of me. This car went out and around the truck and I chose not to move as I was still within the lines.
The guy behind me did not like this plan AT ALL.
He honked his horn and then honked it again, longer and harder. I took a page from Tarzan's book and waved at him in the rear view mirror, just so he knew I'd heard him. This was clearly not a good idea as he flipped me the middle finger and proceeded to spend the rest of the red light pointing from his eyes to my car, like he was watching me or something.
When the left turn arrow came on I proceeded to make my turn and he came hard and fast behind me, sped up, passed me, then came back into my lane, in front of me and slammed on his brakes. I braked as well and changed lanes so I wasn't behind him. He then changed so he was in front of me and again slowed down.
We were really lucky there were not a lot of cars on the same road.
He kept up the same behavior until it became clear, I must assume, that I was not going to ram him or try to pass him or honk at him, so he came back to normal speed and zoomed away. I was glad to see him go straight through the next light, rather than right, as I was going.

This is me and I have never seen behavior like that outside of a movie.
